THE TRAJAL GROUP
During the 39 years since its establishment in 1973, Trajal has been the nation’s leading college specializing in the preparation of students for careers in the Travel, Airline, Cargo, Rail Transport, Theme Park and related hospitality and service industries.
Trajal Hospitality & Tourism College (Tokyo & Osaka) and Bridal College (Tokyo & Osaka) have evolved as important members of the Trajal Group, a collection of tourism-related companies and educational institutions centered around “Travel Journal,” the publishing company responsible for “Weekly Travel Journal.”
For almost four decades, the Travel Journal group has been playing this important professional role, and through its educational institutes (Trajal Hospitality & Tourism College, and several other affiliated colleges nationwide) continues to set the standard for hospitality education in Japan.
EDUCATION AT TRAJAL
Trajal is a two to three year college preparing students for specialized positions within the hospitality industry.
The education involves a balanced, three-way approach through which they learn not only up-to-date Professional Practical Skills that can be put to use immediately in their jobs, but also receive a comprehensive grounding in Basic Business Skills and Manners that allows them to function efficiently in a modern work place.
Training in these two areas is backed up by our distinctive approach with the Notion of Japanese Hospitality "Omotenashi", learning and practicing hospitality from heart.
At Trajal, we firmly believe that good understanding of business practices, communication skills, and the spirit of hospitality are essential for anyone headed into the hospitality industry and we make sure this philosophy is shared in all of our programs.
Four Reasons to Develop
CLASSES IN BOTH JAPANESE AND ENGLISH
- English classes taught by Native Instructors
- In addition to the basic areas of "Reading, Writing, Hearing, and Speaking", practice of the more advanced subjects related to each of the courses are also taught in class. With that, students are able to learn practical English from a number of different perspectives.
- Liberal Arts
- "Skill needed to live abroad", "Foreign Studies", and "Preparation for Job Hunting" classes are the areas aiming to develop student's ability to think.
We also emphasize on combining action with ideas and developing creative minds through-out the studies.
- English Classes taught by Japanese Instructors
- As the contents of "Basic Grammar", "TOEIC" and "Business English" classes need to be explained thoroughly, we assign Japanese instructors in order to improve understanding in these classes.
- Study abroad in Seattle
- Students in the three year course will study in the affiliated colleges in Seattle, USA for 10months.
Through-out the stay in the US, students will be participating in home staying programs as well as having chances to take part in volunteering activities.
Students aim to improve their English communication skills under practical occasions during their stay in Seattle.
Mastering Practical English through Internship or Volunteer Activity
The “Internship Program” and “Volunteer Program” are scheduled in Seattle as well. The students participate in practical training at hotels, travel agencies, airline companies, theme parks, and in the bridal industry.
The students improve their practical English skills by providing service for foreign guests of various age groups.
Experience Local Life Overseas through Home stay
while studying abroad, all the students take part in a home stay program.By living close together with the family, they have the opportunity to experience the local life in the US.
While improving their English skills through communicating with the family members, they are also able to develop attitudes which promote flexibility, cooperativeness, and independence.
A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES
The Trajal study abroad program emphasizes on interacting with local people. The program includes many field trips, excursions, watching sports, and going to events. The school activities continuously aims on creating students with global visions through many educational projects.
With the cooperation of a number of organizations in the hospitality industry, a large percentage of our students take advantage of the opportunities to work as interns and gain practical experiences in the particular fields they are studying in. Generally lasting from six to eight weeks, these internships are offered in the summer months but may take place at other times as well.
